So like, how do you, BEAT SBURB? (edited)
It's actually way way way more fucking simple than any of the other things we've talked about so far.
Sburb's player progression is a twisty stupid fucking mess, but the dev intended route is:
Enter the medium in a chain of players, which includes one knight, one time player, and one space player, inclusive (the knight can be whatever aspect).
(Entry will be detailed further in the Entry FAQ thread.)
Once in, progress through Gates (fast travel portals located both on the player's personal planet and above their house) for questing purposes. Every player has a personal quest vital for their self-actualization, which should take them through a total of seven Gates (you fast travel seven times for your quest). This shit is barely followed in the comic, but there is a good diagram out there if we want to explore it further.
uh
in hindsight
that diagram
was a lot easier
to follow
when watching the video
lol
not relevant.
Anyway. To WIN at Sburb, all one really needs to do is birth the Genesis Frog.

we'll probably strip the gate shit out tbh its stupid anyway, replace it with a single sane fast travel portal

There are certain pieces of advanced cloning technology provided to players in-game

or like, u gotta visit the fast travel gate and unlock it but then u can warp to it from any other gate
plus or minus fraymotif sharing letting u warp to what your friend unlocked??? if we're incorporating homebrew (edited)
oo
space/heart player fraymotif is that boon
IN YOUR ARMS: Unlocks all Gates that anyone, not just the player, have activated.
blah okay thats game mechanic nitty gritty
how does the game owrk
Skaia specifically wants you to make a frog. Space player and the Knight are in charge of this
The frog's genetic code is found within, tons of other frogs.
The space player is involved because their land always involves Frogs and The Forge -- a volcano, imported from the player's home planet, which you literally, fuckin, it's lord of the rings. Drop the egg in there, and the Ring (long story, but its an item naturally occuring in every game), and feed the new universe w as much Creation Juice as possible.
Creation Juice is Grist -- a term meaning, according to Merriam-Webster:
: matter of interest or value forming the basis of a story or analysis
It's creation juice but its also creative juice
Homestuck is about creating a story
Which is why its tools are so powerful for building worlds and characters
So yeah.
Progression is definitely lopsided in that way
The ring is usually held by the Black King -- final boss of the normal game bc funni chess metaphor
